Situated in the former East Germany, the Sachsenring was built in 1927. After several revamps over the following years it was lengthened in 2001 to become the circuit we see today. The "Sachsenring circuit" has some very tight and slow corners in comparison to many other tracks on the 'MotoGP' calendar and produces some great racing.
Our hotel for the 2011 "German MotoGP" is in the heart of the old town of Zwickau, approximately 16km from the Sachsenring circuit. This is the closest town to the Sachsenring circuit and a hive of activity over 'German MotoGP race' weekend. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to be found - perfect to sit and watch the world go by.
