Arsenal will have to recover quickly if they don’t want to end this season on a low note and with Aston Villa not getting their best results lately this could be the ideal game for Arsene Wenger’s men to make a statement. Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw last week with Wigan which is a lot better than Arsenal’s 3-1 loss at the Britannia. The Aston Villa team will undergo major changes in the summer and many of the big name players are targets for some of the bigger clubs in the Premiership which means that every game for them is an advertisement for their skills. Villa though will be hoping for loyalty from key players and fans will be watching every move in the Arsenal game for signs of commitment.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has come under criticism for not spending in the transfer market and that could change this summer to stop the gulf widening at the top of the table. Arsenal’s main problems exist in their week defence and Villa will try and take advantage of the fact that they have no consistent keeper. .
Arsenal and Aston Villa clash at the Emirates Stadium this coming Sunday for an English Premier League fixture between third and fourth in the league table.

Arsene Wenger’s side go into Sunday’s game on the back of a 3-0 home win against Hull City last time out. The team are now third in the Premier League table with 35 points – two behind second placed Manchester United but with one game in hand. They have played eight times at the Emirates so far this season and have enjoyed seven victories and just one defeat.

In the game against Hull last weekend it took Arsenal until the fourth minute of first half injury time to open the scoring when Denilson duly obliged. This allowed Arsenal to breathe a little easier in the second half and further goals from Eduardo and Diaby sealed the deal for the Gunners.Manager Arsene Wenger realises that victory over Martin O’Neill’s talented Aston Villa side on Sunday will go a long way to cementing his team’s title challenging credentials for the rest of the season.

Aston Villa travel to London on Sunday in a great run of form. They have won their last four league games (including a victory at Old Trafford against Manchester United) and are unbeaten in their last seven league outings. A victory against Arsenal on Sunday will really make the rest of the league sit up and take notice.
Villa, though, played similarly well last season until just after Christmas, and then fell away dramatically, eventually losing the fourth Champions League spot to Arsenal.
