Portugal and Argentina will face this Saturday August 13, 2011 in the Quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the city of Cartagena, Colombia 6:00 PM ET. Betting odds are available at Bodog Sportsbook.
Argentina defeated Egypt in the round of 16 with a score of 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals. All goals scored in this match were in the form of penalty shots. The match was lacking great plays and excitement thru the most part until Mohamed Salah scored the 1-1 when things started to move. Then Erik Lamela scored the final goal to seal their pass to the Quarterfinals but it seems he will probably miss the match against Portugal due to an injured ankle.
Portugal sent Guatemala home after their 1-0 victory over the Central Americans. Nelson Almeida scored the lonely goal of the match by penalty shot in game that was not easy for Portugal. This is the first time since 1995 that Portugal reaches the quarterfinals in the U-20 World Cup.
Argentina along Spain are favorites to take the title this year in Colombia. The Albiceleste has won a total of 6 Youth World Cups while Portugal has lifted the cup twice in their history.
