Villarreal will welcome Portuguese team Porto to the Estadio Do Dragao on Thursday May 5 for a Europa League meeting that could win either team progression to the Europa League final. The Porto team have an amazing lead from the first leg but Villarreal will be a different team when they play in Spain in front of their own fans. Villarreal have a massive gap to close after losing the first leg by five goals to one thanks to a magnificent solo display from 25 year old Colombian striker Falcao who netted four times with three goals from open play. The Striker has now drawn level with Jurgen Klinsman’s record of fifteen goals in the Uefa Cup in one season but he is keen to make the record his own with more goals in the second leg. If Villarreal are to stand any chance of taking a point then they will have to man Mark Falcao which is easier said than done.
Villarreal have a poor record in their last five games with goals conceded with Valencia also putting five past them and Sevilla managing to score three. Both of those games and the Europa league thrashing took place away from home and Villarreal play a lot differently at home so it that may come as a shock to the Porto players. With a place in the final at stake this could be a memorable European footballing night
